here she was, using the school printer to stick pictures of them on the box alongside little pipe cleaner flowers and telling us all about them. how she didnt understand why her daughter like them, but instead of shooting her down, she was happy that it made her happy, even if it was a bit scary to her. she not only listened to her talk about it, but she actually learned about the band. she didnt care for the band at all, but she cared for her daughter. she started telling us about how the masks they wore represented things that meant something to them while she fiddled with the red and black pipe cleaners. she started explaining how she didnt really understand how anyone could find the music listenable, and that she found them to be a bit scary at first, but her daugher would talk non stop about them. she said it was her daughter’s birthday that week and she LOVED slipknot. she was not the type to listen to any heavy-ish music. she gave us a couple of pages that were all covered in different images of slipknot, the band, and asked us if we could cut them up into the individual images. she asked us if we wanted to help, and we said sure.

construction paper, glitter, pipecleaners, etcera, and it was all red and black. Sometimes i think about the time me and my friends in high school went to the secretary’s office during lunch and on her desk she had a black box, and a bunch of stuff for decorating.
